Prince Harry acknowledged his brother Prince William during a video speech for the recipients of the Diana Awards, sparking hopes that the brothers will reconcile during their reunion this week. The Duke of Sussex has returned to the UK to join his brother to unveil a new statue to celebrate what would have been Princess Diana's 60th birthday.

       Royally Us host Joe Drake said: "It was brilliant whoever thought of it, whether it was Harry's team or William's team or Buckingham Palace that was behind it.

       "Having Harry releasing a video message acknowledging his brother and himself joining forces for this statue unveiling is smart.

       "We're not going in completely blind so we can only watch their body language, we know that Harry has acknowledged they're doing this as a united front.

       "I think this is really smart, whoever thought of it."

       The annual Diana Awards recognise young activists who have contributed to their communities and have had a positive impact on people's lives.

       Prince Harry gave a virtual speech during the ceremony, thanking the recipients for being "an invaluable asset to your community".

       He said, "Later this week, my brother and I are recognizing what would have been our mum's 60th birthday, and she would be so proud of you all for living an authentic life with purpose and with compassion for others."

       He also spoke about his wife Meghan Markle's faith in young leaders.

       Royally Us host Molly Mulshine said it was "interesting" that Prince Harry appeared alone and that all in all, " it was an optimistic, nice sunny message".

       The two brothers are due to be reunited later today to unveil a new statue for their mother at Kensington Palace.

       Prince William and Prince Harry commissioned the statue in 2017 to mark what would have been Princess Diana's 60th birthday.

       Relations between the two brothers have been strained since Harry and Meghan announced their intention to withdraw as senior royals.

       Since then, the couple have relocated to California and have conducted a number of interviews where they have criticised the monarchy and members of the Royal Family.

       In their tell-all interview with Oprah, Harry characterised his relationship with William as "space" and said they were on "very different paths".

       He also said his brother and father were "trapped" in the institution and were unable to leave.

       Prince Harry's return to the UK will be the first time he has reunited with the Royal Family since Prince Philip's funeral in April.
