Although Harry and Meghan, Duchess of Sussex have stepped back from royal life, one expert has claimed the pair will need to reach a "compromise" with the Firm. Harry returned to the UK to unveil a statue of his mother in Kensington Palace but royal commentator Duncan Larcombe, claimed he and Meghan will need "to plan" how they communicate with the Firm going forward. Indeed Mr Larcombe claimed Harry and Meghan will not be able to "co-exist" as both celebrities and former members of the Royal Family.

Speaking to Closer, Mr Larcombe said: "Harry and Meghan seem to think they can co-exist in these two worlds – the world of British royals and American celebrity.

"Harry is loving the American life now – but he’s still in the honeymoon phase.

"I think coming back and seeing his brother, especially against the very moving backdrop of a memorial for their mother, will maybe make him question what he’s given it all up for.

"He’s totally sacrificed relations with his family for his new life with Meghan, and things seem to have been done her way and with her needs first.

"But, ultimately, Harry will want and need his family – they are his flesh and blood.

He argued Harry and Meghan will “have to make compromises” and warned there will be a point where the Duke “will be torn between Meghan’s world and his own family”.

He added: ”They need to plan what they say and do moving forward and communicate with the royals, if they want to have a relationship with Harry’s family.”

Despite Mr Larcombe's comments, Harry and Meghan both made the joint decision to step back from royal life in order to become more financially independent.

The pair have since paid back the money spent on refurbishing Frogmore Cottage which was estimated at £2.4million in 2018-19.

The Sussexes have also signed deals with Spotify, Apple and Netflix where they will produce documentaries, series and voiceover work.

Another factor of their departure from the Firm was to keep their son Archie out of the media spotlight.

This year, Harry has spoken of breaking the cycle of personal trauma he and his own father Prince Charles have suffered.

Harry claimed his own childhood had been difficult due to the trauma his father had suffered and passed onto the Duke.

Such was the trauma of losing his mother, Harry revealed he had suffered severe anxiety when he was younger.

Harry said: "I was just all over the place mentally

“Every time I put a suit on and tie on having to do the role, and go, ‘right, game face’, look in the mirror and say, ‘let’s go’.

"Before I even left the house I was pouring with sweat.

"I was in fight or flight mode.

“I was willing to drink, I was willing to take drugs, I was willing to try and do the things that made me feel less like I was feeling.”
