Speaking on Monday GB News' head of digital told viewers how according to palace sources both the Charles, the Prince of Wales and Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall, will scrap mandatory mask wearing for meetings. Ms Hutson explained how the Prince Charles will continue to wear masks in "crowded situations" but will move to a mask free stance on Freedom Day. She explained the decision is based on a desire to return to more "personal interaction" between the Prince and those he meets.

Ms Hutson said: "Palace sources are saying Prince Charles will not be wearing a mask when he is out and about.

"When he is in crowded situations he will wear masks.

"But when he is meeting people one on-one he now will not.

"We know that Camilla a few weeks ago when she was in Wales said that she was looking forward to taking the mask off.

"They want to get back to that personal interaction."

Fellow GB News host Darren McCaffery strongly agreed with the move by the royal couple and went on to question why double jabbed Britons are still having to follow coronavirus restrictions.

       He said: "They're double vaccinated!

"The US changed the rules on double vaccinated people on wearing masks like two months ago!"

His wife Camilla previously expressed disdain for mask wearing during a trip to Wales for the couple's 'Wales Week' at the beginning of July.

The Duchess said “I can’t wait to get rid of these” as she pointed at her own mask before an Opera performance at the Royal College of Welsh Music and Drama in Cardiff.

Monday July 19 marks 'Freedom Day' in England as many coronavirus restrictions are scrapped as Britons emerge from lockdown restrictions after a gruelling 16-months.

'Freedom Day' saw nightclubs reopen at midnight as thousands of eager clubgoers formed long queues to get into clubs.

But some scientists are predicting that UK covid infections could hit 200,000 per day later in the summer with many concerned about the impact of a surge of infections will have on the NHS.

The news comes as the number of people in the UK who have now had at least one dose of a coronavirus vaccine hit 46,295,853 on Saturday while 35,970,849 have had both doses.
