Boris Johnson and his wife are expecting their second child. Carrie, 33, revealed she is pregnant with her second baby on Saturday and also shared heartbreaking details on a miscarriage she suffered earlier this year.

Mr and Mrs Johnson were married in a secret ceremony at Westminster Abbey at the end of May this year - a year and a month after they welcomed their first child, Wilfred.

The baby boy, who turned one in April, is the only child the couple currently share - but soon he will be an older brother to the newest addition to their family.

On Saturday, Mrs Johnson took to social media to share her happy news.

On Instagram, the 33-year-old wrote: "At the beginning of the year, I had a miscarriage which left me heartbroken.

Mr Johnson is believed to be the father of six children, not including his second child with Carrie.

The youngest of his offspring is his son, Wilfred Lawrie Nicholas Johnson, born on April 29, 2020.

The baby boy was named after the grandfathers of both parents, as well as in tribute to the NHS doctors who saved the PM's life when he was in hospital with coronavirus.

Wilfred became the latest baby born to a serving Prime Minister, after David Cameron's daughter Florence was born in 2010.

Four of his children are a result of his second marriage to barrister Marina Wheeler, from whom he separated in 2018.

The couple had four children: Lara Lettice, Milo Arthur, Cassie Peaches and Theodore Apollo.

Lara, 28, is the eldest of Mr Johnson's four children with Ms Wheeler.

She is a writer, editor and broadcaster, whose work has featured in The Spectator, British Vogue and the Evening Standard.

Milo, 26, is Mr Johnson's eldest son and the second of the Johnson clan.

He was educated at Westminster School and went on to study at London's School of Oriental and African Studies, graduating in 2014.

After he graduated, he undertook a five-month internship at men's magazine Esquire Middle East, based in Dubai.

Mr Johnson and Ms Wheeler's third child is Cassie, 24.

She studied at Highgate School in North London and is a writer.

Cassie was a student editor of her alumni magazine during her time at private school.

The youngest of the Johnson children with Marina is Theodore, 22.

He went on to attend Cambridge University and in August 2020, reportedly wrote a play on Brexit which included his father's part in the UK leaving the European Union.

Mr Johnson has faced several controversies during his political career - one of which being the birth of a girl named Stephanie in 2009.

Stephanie is the product of an affair with art advisor Helen Macintyre.

At first, the PM denied paternity and his name was not on Stephanie's birth certificate.

But in 2013 after a court battle his connection to Stephanie was revealed.

However, it is not belived Mr Johnson or his other children have any connection with Ms Macintrye or Stephanie.
