Meghan Markle and Harry criticised for life 'lectures' as William&Kate 'get the job done'

Royal experts have criticised Prince Harry and Meghan Markle for their "complaining" whilst the Cambridges have committed to their roles as working royals and are "getting on with the job". Since the Duke and Duchess of Sussex decided to step away from the Royal Family, Prince William and Kate, the Duchess of Cambridge have increased their public profile and have taken on more responsibility.

Richard Kay told documentary Kate: A Young Queen In Waiting: " Harry and Meghan’s absence is a big one and in many ways, Kate and William have filled that void and we’ve barely noticed.

"We’ve had these little homilies sent down the ether from Los Angeles or California from the Sussexes where they tell us how we should be living our lives while sitting in a multi-millionaire mansion whereas William and Kate don’t give us lectures on how we should be living our lives.

"They get out and meet people, they’re interested in how people are leading their lives."

Prince William and Kate have been praised on numerous occasions for their efforts to boost public morale during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Royal editor Katie Nicholls added: "The more we hear the Sussexes complaining, the more we hear of high court cases and privacy battles, I think the more admiration people have in fact for William and Kate for simply getting on with the job and doing it with a smile on their faces which they always do."

In recent months, Kate has launched her Centre for Early Years and Prince William has created the Earthshot Prize, which awards five winners annually for procuring solutions that will substantially help improve the environment.

Kate was praised for her Hold Still exhibition, organised in partnership with the National Portrait Gallery, that encouraged the public to submit their photography of the pandemic into an online competition.

The top 100 images were then displayed across the country on billboards and murals.

The couple have also conducted a tour of the UK and a tour of Scotland to visit frontline workers and visit various communities.

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry announced that they would step away from their roles as senior royals in January 2020.

They cited media intrusion and the desire to relocate to North America as their primary reasons for leaving, however it has since emerged that the couple had a difficult relationship with the Royal Family.

Since their departure, they have conducted a number of high-profile interviews to discuss their experiences.

The most famous was their explosive tell-all interview with Oprah Winfrey, which saw the couple claim that the Royal Family had ignored their mental health, had denied their son a title, and that a senior member had made a racist remark about their child.

They have also launched a number of lawsuits against tabloid papers for libel, invasion of privacy, and copyright.

Meghan Markle secured a victory earlier this year against the Mail on Sunday as the judge ruled in her favour after the tabloid published extracts of a private letter that the Duchess sent to her father.

The couple have also secured a multi-million-pound deal with Netflix and Spotify that will see them produce content that "informs but also gives hope".

Over the last two weeks, Meghan has announced her new animated children's series with Netflix whilst Harry has revealed his book deal with Penguin Random House, which will see the Prince publish his memoirs in 2022.
