Sarah Ferguson, who split with the Duke of York in 1996, opened up about her home life this week in a newspaper interview. The Duchess of York described her life as “extraordinary” in an interview with the Financial Times and insisted “nobody has a normal life.”

Since their 1996 divorce, Prince Andrew and Sarah have remained close over the years and continue to live together at Royal Lodge in Windsor.

The 61-year-old royal said she and Prince Andrew were the “happiest divorced couple in the world”.

Describing the living arrangements, she said both of them live on different sides of the lodge and have their own rooms.

Asked if she ever goes to the supermarket, she replied she “doesn't have to”, adding: 'I don't cook, shan't cook, won't cook. I hate cooking.'

The Duchess concluded her interview by addressing the scandal surrounding Prince Andrew's connection to the convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

She said the situation had been “very challenging for him [Prince Andrew]” and added: “'None of my life is duty. It's because I feel it.

“I want him to come through this. I want him to win.”

The couple, who are parents to Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie, continue to spark speculation they could tie the knot again.

And they are set to welcome another grandchild later this year with Beatrice expecting a baby with her husband Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi.

Talking about her daughters and the type of life she sees lying ahead for them, she said: “Nobody has a normal life... what is normal?

“After the pandemic, what is normal?
