The Norwegian princess was the first member of the foreign Royal family to test positive for the virus but has since recovered after some time away. Crown Prince Haakon confirmed the news to Norwegian TV-channel NRK.

       The TV network asked the Prince about his daughter during an event on September 1.

       The Crown Prince said: “Princess Ingrid is well and back at school again.

       “She felt it a little, but she has gotten well again and is up and running again.

       “Nevertheless, this was a reminder to us that the virus situation is not quite over yet.”

       In the UK both Prince Charles and Prince William contracted coronavirus during the first wave in 2020.

       Princess Ingrid Alexandra tested positive for COVID-19 on August 22.

       She is second in line to succeed her grandfather King Harald V.

       The 17-year-old is expected to become the country’s second female monarch in years to come.

       The Princess isolated at the Skaugum Estate, her family home.

       The rest of her family did not contract coronavirus, including her parents and her brother, after a careful time spent in isolation.

       King Harald had previously told reporters his granddaughter was doing well, he said: “As far as I know, it is going well”.

       King Harald has been King of Norway since 1991.

       He was a great-grandson of Edward VII and therefore a second cousin of Queen Elizabeth II.

       His father Olav V of Norway was King of Norway from 1957 until his death in 1991.
