Prince William, just four at the time, was heading to his first day of school in 1987 when his mother gave him memorable advice which would stay with him for the rest of his life. Before exiting the car and bravely facing the photographers waiting for the royals, the Princess of Wales told William to “behave”.

       “Diana said to him in the car, ‘when you get to school there are going to be lots of media and lots of photographers, you've got to behave yourself’,” Ken Wharfe, William and Harry's former bodyguard, told Yahoo's Royal Box.

       “You're going to get this for the rest of your life."

       While Diana's wise words may not have registered just yet, the young prince gave the princess a cheeky reply.

       The four-year-old said: “Don't like 'tographers'.”

       Prince William started his educational career at Jane Mynors' nursery, followed by the pre-preparatory Wetherby School - both in London.

       He later attended Ludgrove School near Wokingham, Berkshire, for primary school.

       Following royal tradition, the Duke of Cambridge was educated in Eton college.

       “Kate and William are modern parents and will weigh up the decision very carefully,” royal author and expert Ingrid Seward told OK! Magazine.

       “I think they’ll wait to see how the children’s personalities develop and take into consideration whether or not they would be happy to live away from home.

       “Having experienced terrible trauma in his own childhood, William is very tuned in to his children’s mental health.”

       Previous reports show the caring nature of William and Kate's parenting style as they would invite school friends' children to their home for tea.

       “There’s never a shortage of friends around for tea. Kate and William insist on no special treatment for any of them,” a source told Vanity Fair.

       “George might be a future king but for now he’s just another little boy.

       “They are always at great pains to make sure the three of them have as normal a childhood as possible.”
