Which royals work for a living? The four royal family members pursuing their own career

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will have to become financially independent as they stepped down as senior royals earlier this year. But they aren’t the only members of the Royal Family who have had to pursue careers outside of the 'Firm'. What members of the royal family 'work' for a living and what jobs do they do?

Only a select few of the most senior royals are paid to conduct royal duties.

Most of the Windsors have to do regular nine to five jobs, just like us.

All of the Queen’s adult grandchildren, except for Prince William, have to be financially independent from the Crown.

Here are some of the careers they have chosen to pursue.

Although Prince Andrew may have insisted on royal titles for his daughters, (unlike Princess Anne or Prince Edward), the duo are not working royals.

They don’t perform public duties full time.

So they are not funded by the Sovereign Grant, which helps to pay the wages of working royals.

Instead, Princess Beatrice had worked in a range of jobs, from being an extra on the film Victoria, to working as a press officer in the Foreign Office.

She is currently Vice President of Partnerships and Strategy at Afiniti.

Her company biography describes her role as "responsible for the management of the strategic Afiniti partnerships as well as company growth through unique initiatives and client development”.

Princess Eugenie has a passion for art.

She has used her History of Art and English literature degree, to pursue a career in the art world.

She is now a director at the prestigious art gallery Hauser & Wirth.

But royal fans should note these sisters may not entirely be financially independent from the Royal Family.

According to their father’s website, Prince Andrew "supports both of his daughters financially from his private income".

The Queen’s eldest grandchild, Peter Phillips, keeps a low profile and just like his mother, Princess Anne, appears to simply get on with the job.

Like his cousin Princess Eugenie, he has followed his passion and has pursued a career in motorsports.

His first job was for Jaguar, where he worked as a corporate hospitality manager.

He later worked as a sponsorships account manager with the Williams Racing Formula One team.

Peter Phillips sister, Zara Tindall, is most famous not for her royal connections, but for her success as an Olympian.

She has had a successful career as a horse rider, winning numerous major events.

The highlight of her career has seen her win a silver medal at the 2012 London Olympics and the Eventing World Championship in Aachen in 2006.
