Kate, the Duchess of Cambridge jetted off for a short visit to the south of France with husband Prince William and their three children last week to attend James Middleton's wedding to business analyst Alizee. The Duchess of Cambridge travelled with her family last Friday and was welcomed to the village of Bormes-les-Mimosas, where she was reunited with parents Michael and Carol Middleton, as well as with her sister Pippa and her family. Commenting on the short trip, True Royalty TV founder Nick Bullen told Royally US: "Where they live in Norfolk I know very well, it's really close to the beach, it's in one of the most spectacular part of Britain.

"So they can really retreat and be a young family on holiday.

"And then, of course, one of the reasons she might have been a little bit quiet, I think she might have been helping her brother with his wedding.

"Because they've just announced, of course, James got married in France, the Cambridge's were there with the kids."

He added" "I think she's been pretty busy this summer with the children in the beach in Norfolk, a quick trip to see great-granny in Scotland at Balmoral, and then whipping down to Provence to do the Middleton wedding."

Earlier in the summer, it was reported that the couple took Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis to the Isles of Scilly, an archipelago just off the coast of Cornwall, for the holidays.

The Cambridges made the same trip last summer after spending months in their country pile of Anmer Hall during the first lockdown.

The islands hold special significance for Prince William, as he frequented them with Princess Diana, Prince Charles, and Harry during their childhood.

Earlier this month, the family travelled up to Balmoral to visit the Queen during her Scottish retreat.

The week-long trip at the royal estate marked the first family occasion since the death of Prince Philip in April.

The Queen headed off to Balmoral at the end of July, on her first summer holiday since the death of her husband.

The family reportedly spend the week outdoors, fishing, cycling, and riding the much-loved horses around the estate, which has plenty of room at 50,000 acres.

The trip marks the final get-together before Christmas, as shortly afterward the Queen returns to London and the Cambridges return to their royal duties.

The Queen is said to enjoy her Scottish holiday "immensely."

As the Cambridges return to work it could get more hectic for the couple, as it was recently revealed that the family may be moving to Windsor Castle, giving them a more peaceful day-to-day routine, and of course bringing them closer to the Queen.

The move would also bring them closer to Kate's parents, Carole and Michael Middleton, as they are based in Berkshire.

The move could also indicate that the pair will take on more senior roles within the Royal Family, taking some responsibility away from the Queen.

The Queen moved to Windsor Castle indefinitely after the death of Prince Philip, who is also buried in the grounds.
