The Scottish-born celebrity chef, 54, spoke about Lady Diana during Monday's episode of 'Gordon, Gino and Fred Go Greek'. The ITV show documents Mr Ramsay on his travels with fellow chef Gino D'Acampo and the French 'First Dates' ma?tre d'h?tel Fred Sireix.

Speaking to his Italian pal, Ramsay said Diana was "just beautiful" and even compared her to their picturesque Greek surroundings.

"I mean, here’s renowned as the supermodel of the islets – Santorini – and she, by far, was one of the most gracious members of the royal family I’ve ever met," he said.

But D'Acampo also asked Ramsay what his favourite meal was to date.

The often unfiltered chef replied: "Cooking for Lady Di once."

Diana passed away in August 1997 at the age of just 36 when she was involved in a car crash.

However, the People's Princess was not just used to dining at fancy restaurants.

According to ex-royal chef Darren McGrady, Diana even took her two sons, William and Harry, to McDonald's.

"I remember the Princess came into the kitchen one day and said, 'Cancel lunch for the boys I'm taking them out, we're going to McDonald's," he said.

"And I said, 'Oh my God your royal highness, I can do that, I can do burgers'.

"And she said, 'No, it's the toy they want'."

He went on to add: "Yeah, the boys loved McDonald's, and going out for pizza, and having potato skins—sort of the American foods.
