POLICE are appealing for information after a woman in her 20s was grabbed and attacked by a man as she walked down the street in an attempted rape.
The victim was walking on Hamilton Street in Oldham, Greater Manchester, at around 10.50pm on Friday when the man seized hold of her, dragged her to the ground and repeatedly punched her.

The young woman was fortunately able to flee his clutches and managed to call the police.
She escaped with minor injuries from the predator, who is said to have been wearing a dark grey top, dark tracksuit bottoms, and trainers with white soles.
Detective Sergeant Julie Howell, from Greater Manchester Police's Oldham CID, said: "This was understandably an extremely distressing incident for the woman who was walking on the road.
"Thankfully she managed to make off from the man and is now receiving specialist support.
"We immediately launched an investigation and have been carrying out a number of lines of enquiry and are now asking the public to come forward with any information that may assist us.
