Police are currently trying to establish what happened and how the man came to be lying on the busy Bristol Road South.

Cops said a collision investigation team, supported by local officers, are speaking to people in the area, and are examining CCTV footage and other evidence.

A forensic post-mortem will be carried out to confirm exactly how the man died.

They said in a statement: “The 44-year-old was treated by paramedics but sadly died at the scene.
