Witnesses saw a car speed past, and someone in the car fired five shots from an automatic weapon.

The pensioner is believed to have been hit by a stray bullet after asking her neighbours to turn down the music.

A 19-year-old woman, a 17-year-old woman and a 28-year-old man were also all injured in the shooting, and are recovering from their injuries in hospital.

Cops said the a group of up to five men arrived at the BBQ and "indiscriminately" fired shots into the crowd of partygoers.

Police have said their injuries are not life-threatening, and there have been no arrests.

One resident told The Sun: “I heard five or six loud bangs they just sounded like fireworks, but then there was lots of screaming.

“All hell broke loose, there were people running in every direction.

"I saw one man run around the block and get into his car, his hand was bleeding and I think he had been shot.

Another said: “Suddenly we heard about six big bangs, but if it was fireworks that went off then you expect to hear a whoosh after and there wasn’t any.

“And then we heard a car screeching out, and we ran out, and everyone was screaming, and there was a woman on the floor, she was screaming.

“Some people were trying to help her, she was bleeding a lot, she was laying on the floor by the ping pong table.

The 73-year-old woman is believed to have come out to tell party-goers to stop and quieten down from her balcony, and got caught in the crossfire.

A friend said: “She would have only come out to tell them to stop making such a racket, and tell them to stop.

“I think she was just there when it all happened, she would have come down from her flat, but she’s not young, we’re just worried about her, we’ve not heard anything since last night.”
