KUWAIT CITY, Aug 25: The Ministry of Health (MoH) during a meeting with officials from the Directorate- General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has said there is a need to set conditions, standards and controls to organize flights from countries that were previously classified ‘high risk’ and not to rush into taking decisions, reports Al-Anba daily. It is worth mentioning here the decision to operate direct flights to six countries — India, Egypt, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Nepal – went into effect on Aug 18, 2021 after the Cabinet during the meeting chaired by HH the Prime Minister Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled gave the nod.

The sources said that the operation of flights must be successful in terms of equal distribution of operating shares between national companies and companies operating in those countries, and obtaining an additional ‘quota’ for Kuwait International Airport commensurate with the increase in operations, especially with the destinations such as Egypt and India. The sources expect the operation schedules and distribution of flights to be finalized this week.
