HUNGRY fish and chip lovers swarmed a chippy after the store offered a full supper for just 45p.
Queues stretched back for miles outside Mother Hubbard's in Bolton with eager locals paying what a fish supper cost in 1972 - when the chain's first shop opened.

The chippy put on the one-day event on Saturday to celebrate the launch of its newest shop in the Greater Manchester town.
Customers started queuing at 9am, two hours before it opened, to be among the first in line.
By 2pm, 700 meals had been served to hungry locals by the store's 25 staff.

Head fryer Chris Farnell told Manchester Evening News: "We say it's for the first 1,000 customers, but we can't have people waiting for ages and missing out.
"It's been hectic and we'll lose quite a bit of money today, but it's great to see so many people here."
