PUTRAJAYA: Two localities in Kuala Lumpur and four in Sabah will be placed under the enhanced movement control order(MCO).

The affected areas in Kuala Lumpur are Kampung Segambut Dalam and Jalan Kubur in Pantai Dalam.

Health authorities reported an increase in the number of cases after 78 infections were recorded from 646 screenings carried out in Kampung Segambut Dalam.

The enhanced MCO for both localities will take effect from June 26 to July 9.

Kampung Pukat Tanjung Batu Laut recorded 12 cases out of 31 people screened while 10 cases were detected in Kampung Batu Pasir Putih.

Senior Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said two localities in Sandakan namely Lorong 12, 15 and 16 Taman Fajar, as well as PPR Taman Murni, would be placed under the same order.

He said to date, 32 cases were recorded at the two localities.

“The order will take effect from June 27 to July 10.

“This will enable authorities to keep the disease at bay and carry out contact tracing," he said in a statement on Friday (June 25).

Ismail Sabri also announced that the enhanced MCO at several localities has been lifted.

This include Bukit Besar and Serana sub-districts in Kuala Terengganu, Terengganu; Universiti Utara Malaysia in Sintok, Kedah; Taman Villa Felca Nambazan in Penampang, Kampung Kadazan in Tawau, as well as Kampung Lobou 1 and Kampung Bukit Permai in Kota Kinabalu.
