Melaka's Kesidang rep rubbishes talk that sanitisation work is killing dogs

MELAKA: Recent talk of dogs being poisoned by the disinfectant used to sanitise public spaces to combat Covid-19 has been rubbished by Kesidang assemblyman Allex Seah Shoo Chin.

He said such allegations would not discourage the volunteers performing the sanitisation works from carrying out their community services.

He said his team of volunteers have been going around disinfecting various locations since February and so far no one has complained about their pets dying of poisoning.

"I find it ridiculous for some to come up with such talk," he said on Monday (June 28).

Seah said his team has carried out sanitation work hundreds of times across the state.

Meanwhile, MCA Crisis Relief Squad (CRSM) state chief Yong Fun Juan said his team had performed sanitation work 178 times throughout the state since January.

He said CRSM adheres to the guidelines set by the state government on such tasks and refrains from using the fogging method when executing such works on streets and housing estates.

Yong added that CRSM works closely with community leaders, resident associations, schools and key building management officials before initiating the sanitisation process.
