JOHOR BARU: Johor is expected to move into Phase Two of the National Recovery Plan (NRP) by next week, says Mentri Besar Datuk Hasni Mohammad.
He added that this comes as the state has met several criteria set by the Federal Government in the NRP.
“God willing, Johor will soon move into Phase Two by next week,” he said when met after handing over three ventilator machines to Sultanah Aminah Hospital here on Wednesday (July 7).
It was previously reported that Malaysia will reopen in four phases based on three main indicators: the number of daily Covid-19 cases, the number of people who are fully vaccinated, and the state of the healthcare system.
Other states that have moved towards Phase Two include Perlis, Perak, Kelantan, Terengganu, Pahang and Penang.
Hasni also said the state would be getting an additional 300,000 doses of Covid-19 vaccines by this month.
“I have spoken to (National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme coordinating minister) Khairy Jamaluddin and they will be giving us an additional 300,000 doses, bringing the total number of doses Johor is receiving to 1.24 million.
“With the additional vaccines, we can give up to 50,000 jabs per day at all of the vaccine dispensing centres (PPV) located throughout the state,” he added.
Hasni also said that with the increase in vaccine allocation, the state government would be able to start its own vaccination programme, the ImmuPlan Johor Initiative, soon.
He added that so far, some 110,000 names have been registered and screened where the state government would interface with MySejahtera to make sure there will be no overlap.
“This will help the state government reach its target of having 80% of its population getting the vaccination shots by October,” he said.
