PETALING JAYA: Investigations into the alleged abuse of Bella, a 13-year-old girl with Down Syndrome, have been completed.
Bukit Aman Sexual, Women and Child Investigations Division (D11) Assistant Direct Asst Comm Siti Kamsiah Hassan, confirmed this when contacted Thursday (July 15).
"Investigations have been completed. We have sent the investigation papers to the Kuala Lumpur deputy public prosecutor's (DPP) office on Tuesday (July 13)," she said.
She added that the police were awaiting further orders from the DPP's office regarding the case.
On June 24, Kuala Lumpur police received a report on the incident.
In a statement on July 6, City CID chief Senior Asst Comm Saiful Annuar Yusoff, said the victim was found with burn marks on her chest, hand, neck and thighs, as well as other injuries.
Investigations showed that six other children stayed at the condominium unit where the victim resided.
However, no other injuries were reportedly found on the other children.
