KUALA LUMPUR: Bumi Armada Bhd has appointed former chief executive officer of the Employees Provident Fund (EPF) Tunku Alizakri Raja Muhammad Alias (pic) as its independent director effective yesterday.

       In a filing with Bursa Malaysia, the company said Alizakri, 51, has 20 years of experience at senior management and board level roles in multiple sectors and industries including the provident fund, financial services, central banking, healthcare, media and telecommunications, plantation, oil and gas as well as property development.

       His areas of expertise included sustainability, enterprise digitalisation and transformation, corporate strategy and fund management.

       He joined the EPF in 2014 as deputy CEO (strategy) and subsequently served as CEO from 2018 to February 2021.
