KUCHING: First, Spider-Man swung by for his first dose.

Three weeks later, his counterpart from the Marvel Comics Universe, Iron Man, showed up at the vaccination centre in Kozi Square.

The superhero came in the iconic suit to spread cheer among the vaccine recipients as well as get his second dose of the Covid-19 vaccine.

Both times, the man in the costumes was 32-year-old Mohd Syah Nizam Rajap.

He created a stir when he arrived at 11.15am yesterday with people eagerly taking photos.

“When I came as Spider-Man, there was good response from people at the vaccination centre and I could see that it gave them a thrill.

“So, I decided to dress up as a superhero again because I want to entertain the vaccination staff and volunteers.

“It’s the same routine every day. This is something different for them to look at,” he said.

Mohd Syah, who works at Tabung Baitulmal, said it also made him happy when people cheered up at the sight of the “superheroes”.

“I’m doing this out of sincerity. I just want to make people happy and cheerful,” he said.

At the same time, he wants to do his part to encourage vaccination among the public.

“There has been a lot of viral messages about vaccines.

“I hope to give people confidence to get vaccinated,” said Mohd Syah.
