KUALA LUMPUR: Eight Vietnamese women, believed to be guest relations officers, were detained during a raid on an entertainment outlet on Changkat Thambi Dollah here.
Kuala Lumpur deputy CID chief Asst Comm Nasri Mansor said police also detained seven men, including two customers, during the raid at 2am on Saturday (July 17).
"We are investigating how long this outlet has been operating," he said.
ACP Nasri said police also seized karaoke equipment including speakers, a computer, two microphones as well as seven condoms during the raid.
"A male worker and five Vietnamese women tested positive for methamphetamine.
"The suspects, aged from 19 to 57, will be remanded for further investigation," he said.
ACP Nasri urged the public to contact the police if they have any information on illegal activities.
"We need the cooperation of the public to curb crimes, especially vice," he said.
