SIBU: A teenager died after his motorcycle rammed the back of a stationary lorry here.

       Sibu OCPD, Asst Comm Stanley Jonathan Ringgit said in the 3.15pm accident, the deceased, identified as Ronny Dejah, rammed into the rear of the stationary lorry after losing control of his motorcycle at Sungai Merah.

       Ronny, a 17-year labourer from Rumah Semourai, Sungai Antu, died on the spot.

       His pregnant wife, also 17, who was riding pillion was sent to Hospital Sibu for treatment.

       "Prior to the accident, the 54-year-old lorry driver had stopped the vehicle at the roadside to check on damages to his vehicle," he said.

       The case is investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
