PETALING JAYA: It will be a special korban (sacrifice) this coming Hari Raya Aidiladha as all vaccine dispensing centres (PPV) in the Klang Valley will remain open to administer jabs to the public.

Health Minister Datuk Seri Dr Adham Baba said all public and private PPV would operate during the public holiday on Tuesday.

“This is to support our target of vaccinating all residents in the Klang Valley with at least one dose of the vaccine by Aug 1.

“All public and private PPV will not close on Hari Raya Haji on July 20 and instead ‘berkorban’ to continue vaccinating the public,” he told Sunday Star yesterday.

Dr Adham said all PPV would also remain open on weekends.

“The operating hours for public PPV (those involving health clinics and public hospitals) have been extended to 7pm while private vaccination centres will open until 9pm daily,” he added.

ProtectHealth Corporation chief executive officer Dr Anas Alam Faizli said: “The best korban we can offer now is to continue vaccinating people during Aidiladha.”

He said ProtectHealth had informed all private medical practitioners and health-related NGOs participating in the National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme that vaccinations would continue on public holidays and weekends unless there were changes.

Earlier on his Twitter account, he posted that PPV would be open every day.

ProtectHealth Corporation is a wholly-owned non-profit subsidiary of the Health Ministry that implements private medical practitioner participation in the national vaccination programme.
