PETALING JAYA: A total of 15,071,814 doses of Covid-19 vaccines have been administered in Malaysia as of Tuesday.
According to figures posted by the Special Committee on Covid-19 Vaccine Supply (JKJAV) on Twitter yesterday, a total of 10,301,905 people (or 44% of the adult population) had received their first dose while 4,769,909 (or 20.4% of the adult population) received both doses.
It also said that a total of 299,593 doses of Covid-19 vaccines were administered on Tuesday where 204,064 individuals received their first dose while 95,529 people completed their second dose.
Bernama reported Health Minister Datuk Seri Dr Adham Baba as saying in a Twitter post that the 4,769,909 individuals represented 14.6% of the country’s population.
He said 299,593 doses were administered on Hari Raya Aidiladha, of which 204,064 were for the first dose and 95,529 the second dose.
The five states which recorded the highest administration of vaccines on Tuesday were Selangor with 107,444, Kuala Lumpur (63,493), Sarawak (46,606), Johor (28,050) and Penang (14,630).
In the same post, Dr Adham said Labuan continued to record the highest percentage of adults completing the vaccination regimen with 64.7%, followed by Sarawak (47.3%), Perlis (36.5%), the Klang Valley (21.6%) and Negri Sembilan (20.9%).
