IPOH: Perak’s entrance into the third phase of the National Recovery Plan depends on the supply of Covid-19 vaccines it receives.

       Perak Mentri Besar Datuk Saarani Mohamad said its aim could be impacted if they get a low supply of vaccines.

       “The amount (of supplies) depends on the situation in Selangor and Kuala Lumpur and the priority is given to states with a high number of cases,” he said at a press conference after visiting the industrial vaccination centre in Meru Raya here on Friday (July 23).

       He said the state was expected to receive 688,770 doses this month.

       “We have received 452,610 doses so far with the remaining 236,000 doses expected to arrive between July 24 and Aug 1,” he said, adding that the state still had some 236,000 doses in its vaccination storage centre as of July 23.

       “We hope the supplies will arrive by the end of the month,” he added.

       Saarani also said that as of July 21, some 606,627 or 32% of adult Perakians aged 18 and above have received their first dose.

       He said 311,790 people or 10.8% have completed both doses.

       “We see the vaccination rate increase every day. The more people get vaccinated, the more people will feel relieved,” he said.
