PUTRAJAYA: Malaysia recorded 20,780 new Covid-19 cases on Wednesday (Aug 11), says the Health Ministry.

       This is the country’s second highest daily figure ever, just behind the 20,889 cases recorded on August 6.

       The country’s cumulative total has now reached 1,320,547 cases.

       Selangor has the highest number of cases with 6,921 new infections.

       Seven other states have more than 1,000 cases - Kuala Lumpur (2,065 cases), Johor (1,693), Kedah (1,534), Sabah (1,514), Penang (1,385), Kelantan (1,284) and Negri Sembilan (1,015)

       Cases in other states are as follows: Perak (828 cases), Melaka (636), Sarawak (634), Terengganu (613), Pahang (585), Putrajaya (41), Perlis (29) and Labuan (three).
