KUALA LUMPUR: City police have reminded those going to get their Covid-19 vaccinations to follow the standard operating procedure (SOP) at all times.
This comes after a video was posted on Instagram of people queuing outside a supposed vaccination centre without observing physical distancing.
City Police Chief Comm Datuk Azmi Abu Kassim said those going for their appointments as well as walk-ins to the vaccination centres (PPVs) must always comply with the SOP.
"The SOP such as physical distancing and wearing of face masks was put in place to curb the spread of the virus.
"We will be deploying more personnel to these PPVs to ensure strict compliance of SOP at all times," he said when contacted on Wednesday (Aug 11).
Dang Wangi OCPD Asst Comm Noor Dellhan Yahaya said the compliance task force was immediately dispatched to the scene to control the situation.
"Our personnel also used loud hailers to advise the public to comply with the SOP and were at the scene to control the situation," he said.
He also advised the public with information on SOP violations to contact the Dang Wangi police at 03-2600 2222 or the City police hotline at 03-2115 9999.
Instagram user Bondaumirahtaib posted a six-minute video on the situation at the PPV.
In the video, the Instagram user claimed they tried to urge the police to stop the vaccination process there but failed.
A man believed to be her husband was also captured on video urging government leaders to step in and do something about the incident.
