JOHOR BARU: Johor Pakatan Harapan is predicting a change in the state government following developments at the federal level.

Its chief Aminolhuda Hassan, who is Parti Amanah Negara’s Parit Ya’ani assemblyman, said Pakatan would adopt a wait-and-see stand for now.

“We will follow the developments taking place at the federal level,” he said after lodging a report against Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin at the Johor Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) office here yesterday.

Aminolhuda, who is also state Amanah chairman, said the report was lodged over Muhyiddin’s offers to entice the Opposition, which were made during the latter’s live television address on Friday.

Presently, in the 56-seat state assembly, the Perikatan Nasional-led state government holds 29 seats – Umno (14), Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (12), MIC (two) and PAS (one), while the Opposition has 27 seats – DAP (14), PKR (seven) and Amanah (six).

On Thursday, Johor Ruler Sultan Ibrahim Ibni Almarhum Sultan Iskandar said he would not hesitate to dissolve the Johor state assembly if assemblymen continued to engage in power struggles that threatened the state government.
