KUALA LUMPUR: The target figure of vaccinating 80% of the adult population has been reached in the city here, the second Federal Territory after Labuan to achieve, says Federal Territories Minister Tan Sri Annuar Musa.
In a separate statement, the Federal Territories Ministry hailed it as a huge success for the city, and thanked all frontliners, including government agencies and departments, volunteers as well as residents for their cooperation.
"With a daily capacity of 53,000 doses throughout 196 vaccination centers, Kuala Lumpur has managed to vaccinate 2,568,340 individuals with one dose and 1,545,395 with two doses," the Ministry said.
"Through this accomplishment, Kuala Lumpur can begin preparations to move towards Phase Three of the National Recovery Plan to allow more economic activities to resume operations," read the statement on Sunday (Aug 15).
