KOTA KINABALU: Sabah Umno has high hopes for newly appointed Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob to handle Covid-19 related issues more efficiently now that the political tussle is over.

       In congratulating Ismail Sabri over his appointment, state Umno chief Datuk Seri Bung Moktar Radin said the new PM has the capability to better lead and govern the central government.

       He said this was based on Ismail Sabri’s past experience in government administrations and roles throughout the years.

       “He has led several ministries and was also the deputy prime minister before being nominated as Prime Minister, which garnered a majority support from MPs nationwide,” Bung said in a Facebook post.

       He urged matters pertaining to Sabah including the pandemic to be addressed immediately.

       “Efforts must be made to recover our economy and to prioritise the welfare of the people who have been badly affected by the pandemic,” he said.
