PUTRAJAYA: Malaysia recorded 22,262 new Covid-19 cases on Saturday (Aug 21), the Health Ministry has confirmed.

       Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said in a tweet that the country’s total cumulative cases has now reached 1,535,286.

       Selangor remained the state with the most cases, recording 7,011 new infections.

       Cases in other states with four-figure increases are as follows; Sabah (2,651), Sarawak(1,964), Kedah (1,880), Johor (1,558), Penang (1,459), Kuala Lumpur (1,220) and Kelantan (1,039).

       Meanwhile, several states recorded three and two-figure increases and they are Perak (946), Melaka (882), Pahang (664), Terengganu (495), Negeri Sembilan (405), WP Putrajaya (41), Perlis (38) and Labuan (9).
