A SINGLE mother of three young children, in Perak, who is also taking care of her ill, elderly parents is hoping for some help as her income as a factory worker is hardly enough for the entire family, reported Makkal Osai.

       N. Mahaletchumi, 37, and her three children aged 14, 11, and 4, are living in a rundown wooden house in Kampung Bengali near Chemor. Also living with them in the rented house are her paralysed mother Maragatham Nadesan and father Nganasekaran Arumugam, both 60.

Mahaletchumi supports the whole family with her meagre income working at a nearby factory. The family also has to contend with a leaking roof which may collapse any time due to extensive damage.

Recently, a local activist identified as Rasathi from Klebang Jaya met the family and provided some food supplies for their immediate needs.

Mahaletchumi, who said she was thankful for the help, added that they were praying for more help.

The above articles are compiled from the vernacular newspapers (Bahasa Malaysia, Chinese and Tamil dailies). As such, stories are grouped according to the respective language/medium. Where a paragraph begins with a >, it denotes a separate news item.
