King, Queen offer condolences to family of soldier killed in Bera training

       KUALA LUMPUR (Bernama): Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri'ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah and Raja Permaisuri Agong Tunku Hajah Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah expressed their condolences to the family of L/Kpl Mohamad Azrin Mohamad Isa, who died while undergoing training in Bera, Pahang.

       Their Majesties also expressed their sadness over the demise of Mohamad Azrin and hoped that his family would be patient and resilient during this difficult time.

       "Their Majesties greatly appreciate the devotion, service and sacrifice of the late Mohamad Azrin to the country and pray that his soul is blessed by Allah and placed among the righteous,” according to a statement from Istana Negara posted on Facebook, Wednesday (Sept 1).

       According to the statement, Al-Sultan Abdullah had also participated in the search and rescue operation in Kampung Bohor Baru in Bera, on Tuesday (Aug 31).

       His Majesty also spent time with the victim’s family and made a personal donation to them to help lessen their burden.

       Mohamad Azrin, 25, a member of the Army’s Pathfinder Company, was undergoing a tactical training phase crossing Sungai Pahang from Kampung Batu Bor to Kampung Bohor Baru in the Army’s PARA Predator Exercise Series 1/2021 when he went missing at 4.40pm on Sunday (Aug 29).

       His body was found by villagers in Kampung Serengkam, Maran, about 70km from the scene at 8.15am on Wednesday.

       The PARA Predator Exercise is one of the exercises carried out by the Malaysian Army through the 10th Brigade based at Terendak Camp, Melaka, involving a total of 1,894 military personnel members with 151 military logistics assets.- Bernama
