JOHOR BARU: More than 100 houses were inundated with water after continuous heavy rain caused a flash flood in three villages in Pasir Gudang, here.
Fire and Rescue Department operation commander Ibrahim Omar said that the affected villages were Jalan Kampung Masjid, Kampung Bukit Pulai and Kampung Bukit Sentosa.
“The water has risen to about three feet due to continuous rain that started about 2am.
“The department received a distress call at 3.14am and deployed 24 personnel to the location to conduct the rescue operation,” he said in a statement here on Thursday (Sept 2).
He added that no one was injured in the incident and the water subsided soon after.
Pictures of the flash flood have also gone viral on social media, showing some of the houses that were flooded.
