SHAH ALAM (Bernama): The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) has arrested a government agency officer on suspicions of seeking and receiving a RM5,000 bribe from an advertising company.
A source from the MACC said the 44-year-old was believed to have committed the act since 2017 till last year as a reward for helping the company obtain a project to supply stickers from a government agency.
He said the suspect was arrested around 2pm Thursday (Sept 2) at the Selangor MACC office.
Meanwhile, Selangor MACC director Datuk Alias Salim when contacted, confirmed the arrest and said the case was being investigated under Section 17(a) of the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission Act 2009.
The suspect is expected to be brought to the Shah Alam Magistrate’s Court for remand application on Friday (Sept 3). - Bernama
