PUTRAJAYA: The lower daily Covid-19 vaccination figures is “a good sign” as it shows many in Malaysia have been vaccinated, says Datuk Seri Dr Adham Baba.
The Science, Technology and Innovation Minister said the country’s vaccination rate is expected to show a slowdown in the coming weeks.
“Many people have been asking why the daily vaccination numbers are smaller nowadays.
“This is actually a good sign. This shows that many of us in Malaysia have already been vaccinated.
“Therefore, we should expect to see the rate to be lesser in the next few weeks,” said Dr Adham, at a job handover ceremony with Health Minister Khairy Jamaluddin.
In the latest Cabinet, the two ministers had their posts swapped.
In August, the average vaccination rate was around 500,000 jabs a day.
Last Tuesday (Aug 31), the total number of jabs administered that day was 326,476.
Currently, the country has fully vaccinated 69.6% of its adult population.
