KUALA LUMPUR: Police have seized over 7kg of syabu after crippling a drug distribution ring.

Gombak OCPD Asst Comm Zainal Mohamed Mohamed said a team from the Selangor Narcotic Crime Investigation Department arrested four men after raiding a parking lot at Taman Bolton, Batu Caves at around 1pm on Aug 30.

"The suspects aged between 30 and 40 were believed to be part of a drug distribution syndicate.

"During the raid, police managed to seize a blue canvas bag with seven packets of Chinese tea containing a crystallized substance believed to be syabu," he said in a statement on Wednesday (Sept 8).

He said the drugs weighed about 7.14kg and were estimated to be worth at least RM245,000.

"We tested the suspects' urine and three of them tested positive for drugs.

"Two of the suspects also had prior records for crime and drug cases," he said, adding that the suspects have been remanded to help with further investigations.

He said the case has been classified as drug trafficking under Section 39B of the Dangerous Drugs Act.
