PETALING JAYA: More than half or 50.5% of Malaysia's total population have been fully vaccinated against Covid-19 on Wednesday (Sept 8), says the Special Committee on Covid-19 Vaccine Supply Access Guarantee (JKJAV).
In a series of tweets on Thursday (Sept 9), JKJAV said that 16,492,295 Malaysians have been fully vaccinated against Covid-19 while 20,293,582 Malaysians have received at least one dose.
It also showed that 70.5% of the country's adult population have also been fully vaccinated while 89.5% of the adult population have received at least one dose.
A total of 320,452 doses of the vaccine was administered on Wednesday, with 128,038 people receiving their first dose and 192,414 receiving their second dose.
The national immunisation program was launched on Feb 24 this year.
More than 50% of Malaysia's total population have been fully vaccinated.
