KOTA KINABALU: All tourism sites in Sabah are now allowed to open to visitors who are from the same district, in addition to the travel bubble permitted previously.
State Covid-19 spokesperson Datuk Seri Masidi Manjun (pic) announced the updated standard operating procedure (SOP) for Sabah under Phase 2 of the National Recovery Plan on Friday (Sept 10), which sees relaxed rules for the tourism sector.
"Tourism operators, their staff and visitors must be fully inoculated and showed a Covid-19 low risk status in the MySejahtera app," he said in the daily statement to update Covid-19 developments on Friday.
Hotels are now allowed to accept guests from the same district.
Hotels were previously only allowed to open for quarantine purposes and workers of essential services.
Masidi said this was on condition that guests and workers of hotels or homestays have been fully vaccinated.
"Activities using facilities at these premises such as gyms, saunas, jacuzzis and seminar rooms are still prohibited," he added.
