Malaysia Day celebrations to be televised live on national TV

       KOTA KINABALU: This year’s Malaysia Day celebrations will be telecast live on national TV stations to allow Malaysians to experience the event.

       Yang di-Pertua Negeri Tun Juhar Mahiruddin would be officiating the celebrations at the Sabah International Convention Centre here on Thursday (Sept 16) with a limited number of guests.

       Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob is scheduled to attend the event which would start at 8pm.

       Guests, however, are expected to arrive at 6pm.

       The national and state anthems and a welcoming dance will kickstart the celebration, followed by the welcoming speeches from Communications and Multimedia Minister Tan Sri Annuar Musa who is the organising committee chairman.

       Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor and Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Seri Bung Moktar Radin are also expected to make speeches.

       Ismail Sabri will give his speech thereafter, followed by a special Malaysia Day Celebration book signing ceremony.

       A Malaysia Prihatin montage show, as well as a special performance, will also be showcased after that.

       The event is expected to end by 10pm.

       For those who want to watch the event live, they can do so on RTM and Malaysia Information Department and Portal Merdeka 360 social media platforms.
