PAGOH: Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia will only work with parties that have aligned under the Perikatan Nasional umbrella during the 15th General Election.

       Its president Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin said the party was ready to accept any development concerning cooperation with parties like Umno and PAS.

       “As Bersatu and Perikatan in particular, we are confident of facing any situation and will keep moving forward. We will not be hindered by others.

       “If they are part of us, we will work together. Otherwise, we will oppose them in the next general election.

       "This is a a principle which I think is accepted by all members of Bersatu," he said when met after chairing a Johor Bersatu meeting at its Pagoh division headquarters here on Friday (Sept 24).

       He was confident that PAS would continue to be with Bersatu under the Perikatan banner in GE15.

       Muhyiddin said PAS' top leadership and members have continued to support the Perikatan agenda until now.

       “When we first registered Perikatan, PAS was the sponsor and they have been together with us since it was established.

       “Until today, in all the meetings we hold, PAS representatives and its president as well as other leaders come together to discuss matters related to Perikatan," he said.

       Muhyiddin also advised Johor Bersatu leaders to make the necessary preparations to face the upcoming general election with its Perikatan allies in the state such as PAS and Gerakan.

       He instructed each of the 26 divisions in Johor to prepare their machinery in the run-up to GE15.

       “I am not saying the election will be held tomorrow but it is better for us to be prepared,” he said, adding that Bersatu would be contesting under the Perikatan banner.

       Perikatan comprises Bersatu, PAS, Sabah STAR, Gerakan and SAPP.
