KLANG: It was an outing that turned into tragedy for a 37-year-old expectant mother, who had gone for a seafood treat at a restaurant in Sekinchan.
The woman, who went to the restaurant toilet to ease herself, ended up going into premature labour and her newborn infant slipped into the toilet bowl.
According to a Selangor Fire and Rescue Department spokesman, it happened at 4pm at the Abah Bonda Ikan Bakar eatery in Parit 7, Sekinchan.
“Firemen managed to retrieve the baby by breaking open the toilet bowl,” said the spokesman.
Unfortunately, the baby was declared dead by medics.
The mother, meanwhile, was sent to Hospital Tanjung Karang by ambulance.
