SEREMBAN: All Covid-19 public vaccination centres (PPV) in Negri Sembilan will be closed on Oct 15, says Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun.
The Mentri Besar said those who wished to get vaccinated after that would have to go to government clinics or hospitals.
"We have been told by the federal Covid-19 Immunisation Task Force that all the PPV will be closed on that date.
"So those who have yet to get their first dose can still walk in to any PPV tomorrow (Sept 30) to get it as these centres will close on Oct 15," he said after chairing the state exco meeting at Wisma Negri.
The centres are the Seremban City Council Hall, Paroi Youth and Sport Complex, Dewan Sikamat, Teluk Kemang Youth and Sports Complex, D'Sury Hall in Jelebu, Jempol Land Office Hall, Jempol Municipal Council Hall, Felda Palong 6 Sports and Community Complex, Dato Bahaman Hall Kuala Pilah and Dewan Besar in Gemas.
Since Sept 20, individuals above 18 who have yet to get their vaccination appointment via MySejahtera have been allowed to walk in to any of these centres to get their jabs.
As of Tuesday (Sept 28), 9,691 individuals have received their first shot.
Separately, Aminuddin expressed hope that senior citizens who had been vaccinated would be allowed to enter wet markets and other business premises just by showing their vaccination card.
"I am told that some of these individuals who are in their 70s and 80s are not being allowed in because they either do not have a mobile phone or do not know how to use the app even if they have one.
"I hope owners will be more flexible and allow them in," he said, adding that under Phase Four of the National Recovery Plan, business owners had the discretion to do so.
Aminuddin also reminded the public to continue to remain vigilant and adhere to all Covid-19 prevention standard operating procedure although the number of cases in the state fell to 89 on Wednesday (Sept 29).
He said parents should also leave their children at home if there was no pressing need to take them out.
"We used to have more than 1,000 cases a day not too long ago and the numbers have fallen drastically.
"It is my hope that all of us will continue to adhere to the SOP and remain vigilant as there are still different variants out there," he warned.
