PETALING JAYA: The Federation of Peninsular Malay Students Associations (GPMS) has received its newest headquarters, courtesy of the Transport Ministry.
Transport Minister Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong, in a Facebook post on Wednesday (Sept 29), said that the GPMS will move into its new location in Lot 33, Lorong Titiwangsa 4, Titiwangsa on Oct 1.
"The land is owned by the Railway Assets Corporation (RAC). All renovation and improvement works on the building were sponsored by the Transport Ministry through the RAC," he said.
Wee added that the association's old office on Jalan Sultan Salahuddin, also on land owned by the RAC, had been listed by the RAC for commercial purposes, among other things.
"The movement of the headquarters had been discussed during a meeting on March 16, 2020. After negotiations, the GPMS agreed to move to the new location via a land lease between the GPMS and the RAC," he said.
