KOTA KINABALU: A man was found dead in a drain near Sandakan's Pekan Batu 8 junction at about 6.30am on Saturday (Oct 2).

       The man has been identified as 30-year-old Mohd Nasir Hassan, said State Fire and Rescue Department assistant director of operations Misran Bisara.

       He added that the Department believes that Mohd Nasir had been electrocuted.

       “Firemen managed to get him out of the drain after cutting off power supply at the area,” said Misran in a statement.

       It is not known what the victim had been doing in the drain prior to his electrocution, and Mohd Nasir's body has since been handed over to the police for further action.
