KULAI: Just two weeks after receiving threats from scam syndicates, MCA national public complaints and service bureau deputy chief Chua Jian Boon's family house was splashed with red paint.

He said that his family informed him about the 11pm incident on Thursday (Oct 8), when he was on his way home from work.

"I arrived to see my brother’s and father’s car had been splashed with red paint. I decided to immediately call the police,” he said when contacted here on Friday (Oct 8).

He added that the culprit had also left behind a note saying "this is just a start" in front of the house.

"I have made a police report at the Kulai police headquarters and I am planning to organise a press conference regarding this case," he added.

Chua, who also made a video of the incident, said he hoped that the Johor police chief Comm Datuk Ayob Khan Mydin Pitchay would look into this matter and apprehend those involved.

Meanwhile, Johor MCA Youth chief Ling Tian Soon who was also at the scene said that MCA would continue to protect those who call for protection and help from these sorts of threats.

"Chua has done an excellent job in handling public complaints and assisting those in need of protection.

"We will continue to do so and we will not back down from this threat," he said, adding that the aid was given to all victims regardless of race and religion.

Meanwhile, Comm Ayob confirmed the police report and said the case was being investigated under Section 427 of the Penal Code for causing damage through acts of mischief.

The offence was punishable with a maximum jail term of five years or a fine or both upon conviction.

Earlier, on Sept 23, Chua’s 58-year-old father was reported receiving a threat from an unknown man saying that Chua should stop minding other people’s business or risk their house getting burnt down.
