KUALA LUMPUR: The 12th Malaysian Plan (12MP) was passed by the Dewan Rakyat on Thursday (Oct 7).
Dewan Rakyat Speaker Datuk Azhar Azizan Harun announced that the 12MP was passed through a voice vote.
The 12MP was put to the House for a vote after eight days of debates and replies by 27 ministries and departments.
On Sept 27, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob tabled the 12MP in Parliament.
The five-year (2021-2025) plan, themed "A Prosperous, Inclusive, Sustainable Malaysia", aims to steer the nation out of the Covid-19 pandemic and put the economy back on track.
The tabling of the 12MP was postponed on at least two occasions from the original Aug 6 date last year due to the Covid-19 pandemic and the change in the nation's political landscape.
The current 17-day Dewan Rakyat meeting will end on Oct 12.
