KUALA LUMPUR: All roadblocks at state borders nationwide were withdrawn at midnight yesterday, following the lifting of the interstate travel ban, says Datuk Seri Acryl Sani Abdullah Sani.
The Inspector-General of Police said, however, roadblocks at enhanced movement control order (MCO) areas as well as those under Ops Benteng and crime prevention operations will still be conducted.
“While roadblocks at state borders will not be conducted anymore, police compliance operation teams will still be deployed to ensure that the people comply to standard operating procedures (SOPs).
“The teams will be deployed randomly to public places with large concentration of people,” he said.
Acryl Sani advised the public not to take the decision to lift the interstate travel ban, for granted.
“We hope the public will maintain a high level of SOP compliance to ensure Covid-19 does not spread.”
